Nova Oshun Shakur (they/them) is a Pan-Africanist, communist, writer, photographer, and artist from Houston. Their passion is in understanding and building community systems and infrastructure, especially systems that might serve as alternatives to those provided by federal, state, and local governments. As a writer and photographer, they are largely inspired by revolutionary political theorists and anti-imperialist artists whose work redefines humanity outside of the confines of white supremacy-capitalism-patriarchy (i.e. Assata Shakur, Walter Rodney, Ghassan Kanafani, Jean-Michael Basquiat, Noname, etc).
