Becca Rayehanatou Haynesworth
Becca Rayehanatou Haynesworth is an African woman multidisciplinary artist, community organizer and educator from North Carolina. In the Spring of 2025, she proudly received her B.A. from Howard University in Media Management and also holds a double minor in Africana Studies and Economics. She is the winner of the Zora Neale Hurston & Richard Wright Foundation 2025 College Award for Fiction, and a 2025 Black Girl Environmentalist Hazel M. Johnson Fellow. Becca has conducted filmmaking in Ghana, solidarity work across the Caribbean including Cuba and Ayiti, and most recently completed two years of ethnographic research in the Gullah Geechee Corridor. Becca’s soul work recalls a collective indigeneity and divinity, and seeks to protect African lifehood through ancestral remembrance.
