Ain 't sh*t changed…

It sits in another toilet,
and we are ass out
because our elected
and unelected governments
cracking down on speech
is the same as
silencing the hanged,
and we know that scene
has always been for the public
to witness what it means
when the state has heard enough
of what unchannelled, unmobilized
power sounds like.

There's a rise
in fascist states,
like the ones in the 40s,
because it's easy
to not see the
harmed as one's self
and to live out human
pettiness
and hatred
through the guise
of authority,
so we can pretend
to be moral
so we can say
that the people we hate,
God does too,
and that allows those minimalist
minds to atrophy,
while racist ideology permeates,
dominates
other spaces
that have become
reserved…
contain, concentrated, carcerated,
and how power uses the
thin color of people's skin,
or their gender, religion, or resistance
as a way to divide and demise.
But the ideas of the unshackled
cannot and will not be silenced.

Ain 't sh*t changed…

so let's stop pretending
that what is happening
has not always been
and then we can
actually have a conversation
about the erosion ecology
that subtly reshapes neighborhoods,
or country's shores,
which really is the
further enslavement of
their lands, air, resources
of stolen and erased
people who were
disappeared into assimilation
or annihilation…
they disbelieved in
a flag that did not recognize,
but they too deserved
a star.

See us,
but
not only through your
money-generating cameras,
surveillancing our Black and Brown bodies
so your AI fraudsters
can sell our victimization
as propagation
highlighted on the nightly news,
looping our imaginative negativity
into a bullet,
noose,
or through a sentence
to validate their
murdering of us…

Amadou Diallo… Michael Brown…
Eric Gardner… Breonna Taylor…
shared similar fates as Emmett Till and
all the others who the local medical examiners
cared too little
to name!

STOP trying to convince me that sh*t has changed…

So you can ignore
your eyes and ears
about what we have
always been telling the world.

You hate us for what
you have done
beyond stealing Wokeness,
it's been your contribution to
this world's Brokenness…
it has consumed you
and fueled your cruelty
and mental fragility.

We reserve the right
to use the ashes left behind
at your own stakes,
that you build,
have built
after your wars…

Don't give us anything, just get
the fuc% out of our way…
but that seems unavailable
to you, since you can't
get out of your own… way

Ain't sh*t changed…

and I can't even be mad,
like a rabid dog,
because that would justify
you shooting us
at the Border
or on our Corner,
your choices have
changed… our trajectory.

But it can never erase our presence
or define our resistance because that
sh*t… will… never… change.
